Art Nouveau Majolica Art Tile
Style/technique: Art nouveau majolica Manufacturer: Almost certainly T & R Boote Dimensions: 6" x 6" Date: circa 1905 Colours: 3   A fascinating design the raised outlines to the edges of the flower, buds and leaves being frilled, the only time I can recall seeing this effect. The frilling and extra moulding in the leaves and petals give more depth and add a little naturalism.
Condition: Good Price: £60 (approx $119) Ref: 02215 There is considerable chipping/roughness to both top corners which is rather less detracting visually than one would expect. Other small/tiny chips to the edges clearly visible in the image, there is some slight discolouration in the crazing otherwise the surface is excellent. A dozen or so very small to very tiny chips around the edges, about a couple of dozen chips to the raised outline, all but a handful being very tiny. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
