One very tiny abrasion near bottom right corner,
an errant piece of print just below top edge and
another just below top left corner. Very clean,
bright colours, super brilliant glaze. Style/technique:
Floral print &
tint An excellent bold floral design with
flowerhead of generous dimensions and strong
leaves nicely printed and painted in five great
colours. A rare combination of colours with two
blues and the most unusual stippled green to the
base and finished with a most brilliant
glaze. The design fills the tile nicely and is well
proportioned for its intended use in the
decorative market such as for fireplaces and
washstands where any border would be partly
covered by the frame and may look incomplete.
Possibly a design that Pilkington adapted for
one of their high outline majolica designs. Verso very clean, generic bars. Two very tiny corner chips, other exceedingly
minor marks. Very clean, bright colours, super
brilliant glaze. Medium surface chip right edge, other
exceedingly minor marks. Very clean, bright
colours, super brilliant glaze. Very tiny chip top edge and another upper right,
other exceedingly minor marks. Very clean, bright
colours, super brilliant glaze. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430
pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format and on
screen is about the size as it would be in real
life at the same distance. A larger 120 dpi image
also in maximum quality JPEG format can be
forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than
cropped close to the edges so that the edges can
easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly
spotted. Other marks described are usually not
visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as
one normally sees it and can only be seen with a
critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch
imperfections in reflected light. For more details
of how we describe marks see Condition.
