Chip bottom right corner but little else to note
just few minute marks, glaze surface near perfect
with just the very slightest touches of rubbing to
high points. Style:
Floral Quite a rare tile, Mintons Ltd were late to
the majolica party although they did go in to
hyperdrive and by 1895 were producing some
really excellent wares. A big bold floral
design, quite naturalistic, at first impression
one may think Sherwin & Cotton. Just two
colours but the moulding sufficiently deep and
the glazes translucent and rich that the end
result is a good tile. Verso some smoke stain otherwise clean,
embossed Mintons etc, the grip pattern of the
type more often seen on printed tiles and rarely
on majolica.
