A fabulous and rare arts & crafts tile,
slip trailed and majolica glazed on an 'oatmeal'
clay body. Wonderfully translucent earth tone
glazes, richly coloured and yet allowing the
texture of the clay to show through. Tiles by
this technique are rare, Mintons tiles by this
technique are very rare. In the manner of John
Wadsworth, possibly by his hand having
recognisable characteristics of his work.
Verso as perfect as the face although
slightly uneven due to the texture of the clay,
embossed Mintons etc, unusually no pattern
number.
