A couple of tiny chips/rust stains, mark top
righ corner a manufacturing flaw, surface near
perfect. Style:
Aesthetic A style I struggle to describe, really does
not look 19th century, without the context one
may say Art Deco or 1960s Pop Art. But it is
circa 1885 and can be seen in the Mintons
catalogue as part of a fireplace cheek panel
although this removed from furniture. Rarely
seen, a rather bold and dramatic for interior
design of whatever period so I doubt they sold
many. Conversely lots of appeal as a collectors
tile, stylish, bold and bright, a bit naive in
the simplicity, a bit cheeky. Verso very clean, embossed Mintons etc.
