An early majolica tile from Minton, Hollins
& Co. (Minton & Co.). Verso is lacking
Patent Tile Works, Minton, Hollins & Co.'s
address since 1870. A very ambitious design to
manufacture using the enameled majolica
technique with the spiralling tendrils and quite
high at sometimes sharp relief. The design most
often seen in the flat print & tint manner
from Mintons, a separate and rival company who
copied Minton, Hollins & Co.'s designs.
Verso perfectly clean, embossed Minton
Hollins etc.
Small chip bottom left corner, couple minute
chips where black in top border meets right
edge, wear to petal tips, other marks are
manufacturing flaws (mostly glaze misses).
