Some very slight roughness to the tip of the
rim, very minor surface marks. Style: Art
nouveau secessionist An excellent secessionist design glazed in
bright natural colours and unusually with
impressed outline. The effect is quite
different, the outline darker rather than
lighter, and with nice tonal blending of the
greens. I have only seen it three, perhaps four
times and it was a while before a positive
manufacturer identification could be made. A similar design but with raised outline is
found by Mintons and T. A. Simpson however
having a less detailed pattern lacking the dots
around the flowerhead and some detail of the
leaves. The Simpson example is almost
universally called Mintons despite the lines and
patten numbers being different, they even appear
side by side in a book both attributed to
Mintons. Verso perfectly clean, unmarked save for
painted pattern number.
