Aesthetic Movement Transfer Tile
Manufacturer: Sherwin & Cotton Dimensions: 6" x 6" Pattern Number: S1044 Date: circa 1885 Colours: 1 painted   A very nice and rather unusual transfer printed tile, the body of green clay and just one colour painted. Stylised sprigs and flowers with a small central stylised flowerhead medallion, borders somewhat akin to greek key patterns. Verso very clean with large clear Staffordshire knot in triangle mark and pattern number printed.
Condition: Excellent Price: £55 (approx $109) Ref: 00076 Medium surface chip bottom right corner, another small one midway between that corner and the middle, a few other tiny/very tiny edge chip. Surface is very excellent, only the very slightest of marks. Perfectly clean, no crazing, high brilliance in the glaze.
