A fascinating design which fills the whole tile, an exuberant pattern with a massive stylised flowerhead. The light olive green glaze shows both it's green and brown constituent colours which are nicely graduated.

We see relatively few art nouveau designs from Craven Dunnill similarly as with several other long establish tile makers like nearby Maws, Mintons and Minton Hollins possibly because these companies had such great back catalogues of designs that they didn't feel the need to compete with the mass modern designers like Richards and Boote. This design was also made by Corn Bros although the dies were different as there are clear differences in the moulding, it is unlikely either company copied the other so presumably the design was licensed.

A few small and tiny chips around the top right corner, two tiny chips on the bottom edge. One tiny stun chip on the background near the left edge towards the top, other extremely minor surface marks. The dark line near bottom left is a manufacturing imperfection. Very clean with super high brilliance in the glaze.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
