It appears to have a printed brown outline and the other colours to have been painted through a stencil. Brushmarks are clearly visible in the leaves and plums (we had four tiles to compare) and the stippled effect in the flowerhead is clearly intended to vary from tile to tile. Another example of Maws diversity of and experimentation with production techniques that in turn produced some innovative art tiles.
