An Edwardian neo classical design, this tile was rather more difficult to make than the first impression gives. The pattern is completely indented so all the more difficult to paint accurately and it is very well done. The style is classical with Art Nouveau influence, indicative of the later Edwardian period, the pastel colours maybe suggesting a slightly later date.

The back is a little unusual for Gibbons Hinton, a moulded imitation of 'combing'. It bears the moulded pattern number as typical for the company.

Condition: Excellent+

Price: £50 ($75)

Ref: 01911

A few very tiny edge chips and a few very small, light scratches. A very clean and brilliant tile.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Minor surface marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.
