Style/technique: Aesthetic transfer print Manufacturer: Minton Hollins Dimensions: 8" x 8" Date: design registered 1876   An absolutely fabulous and highly stylised design printed in a super warm yet strong shade of blue. An outstanding modern design, bold and stylistic, in some ways having an art nouveau feel, comparatively a little restrained but this was 1876! Really vibrant tones of blue, very eye-catching, difficult to ignore. Famous designer? Probably but who knows! An outstanding design regardless of the name of the originator. Verso very clean and fully named as usual for Minton Hollins, the earlier pattern and with indistinct registration mark.
Condition: Excellent Price: £140 (approx $220) Ref: 02804 Very small chip upper right edge and another on the surface nearby, very small chips either side of bottom right corner, very tiny chips top corners, a short, less than half an inch, strip of roughness to the tip of the edge lower left. A few very light surface scratches but very clean with brilliant glaze and no crazing, displays superbly.
