Slightly trimmed for the fitting lower right
edge otherwise only very minor marks, chip upper
left is a glazed over manufacturing flaw. Style: Oriental When I first saw this I wondered if it may be
by Wedgwood as they produced some similar
designs. A nice design, competantly engraved and
printed, it repeats both vertically and
horizontally which strikes me as rather curious,
to my mind one looks good, a wall would look a
bit odd. English manufacturers did not produce
such repeating designs that I can think of but I
have seen some at least similar from continental
companies. Verso perfectly clean, a little clay loss
from removal from its installation. Rails,
embossed R in a lozenge shape like the pre 1884
british registration mark and printed number
D54. Wedgwood used D prefix pattern numbers but
only for block printed tiles.
