Apparently originally used in a tea tray just one very tiny chip lower left, some light surface scratches and rubbing not obvious unless caught in the light.

• Style/technique: Pictorial print majolica glaze
• Manufacturer: Richards
• Dimensions: 6" x 6"
• Date: circa 1935

Dutch landscapes and children scenes became popular in the edwardian era when this design was created, many companies made a few designs. In the usual range of techniques of the times, transfer prints, cloisonné moulded, tube line this one of the least common techniques a printed imitation of cuerda seca. However this tile is from the 1930s, Richards made quite a few edwardian designs in the 1930s with super brilliant lead glazes perhaps the last gasp for the process as lead glazes were slowly banned due to worker health concerns during the mid twentieth century.

Quite popular for tea trays as it appears this tile was originally used along with the companion tile found here.

Verso slightly stained (tea?) embossed Richards, England etc.
