Turquoise clay body, very uncommon and a rarity from Mintons, printed in cornflower blue with 'gold' banding. The cornflower blue is textured, dappled, in the most appealling manner, finsihed with a most brilliant glaze it is a most brilliant tile. Verso perfectly clean, embossed "Works, Stoke on Trent" the Mintons China having been scraped off. Barnard, Bishop & Barnards used Mintons tiles and had some exclusive patterns made for them by Mintons on unmarked blanks.
