Bottom corners trimmed for the original fixing,
light scratch lower left, touches of rubbing to
high points. Style: Art
nouveau An uncommon tile from Richards with a bold
flowerhead in two shades of blue and buds, five
colours overall with three greens. Very nicely
modelled and moulded with embossed and impressed
flowerhead and fine outline for the stems and
leaves. Quite an unusual format however there
are two similar designs, one from Ollivant and
another from Simpson, as if based upon the same
original idea. Surprisingly Simpsons the most
often seen and not as good as the others. Versos perfectly clean, diagonal rails,
painted pattern number. Top corner trimmed for the original fixing,
touches of rubbing to high points. Top corner trimmed for the original fixing, very
minor surface marks.
