Tiny chip and touch of roughness bottom edge,
four minute rim chips, couple glazed over flaws
bottom edge, surface very near perfect and most
brilliantly glazed. Style: Art nouveau A fabulous bold art nouveau design, well
known yet elusive. Seen in several colourways,
Barratt apparently made relatively few art
nouveau designs but made them all in many
colourways. An interesting genre having a
symmetrical flowerhead with asymmetric leaves
and stems, there are quite a few but this
probably the most dramatic. Despite the strong
asymmetry a great sense of balance to the design
the boldness of the leaf allied with the
formality of the stems. Verso near perfectly clean, embosseddesign
registration number, painted pattern number. Tiny corner chip bottom left, a very tiny glaze
chip, slight scuffing to leaf centre.
