A rare design, despite collecting art nouveau for over forty years different designs still keep coming along, one or two per week is typical. There must be in excess of ten thousand art nouveau tile designs with a small fraction, likely little more than a hundred, being transfer printed. Art nouveau tiles more or less coincided with the advent of majolica tiles, or so it seems from the perspective of 130 years later in fact lead glazed embossed majolica tiles preceded art nouveau by near a decade.
