A super design in great colours, perhaps
designed by Lewis Day, very much in his style
and the registration date accords with the
period when he was designing many similar lively
floral designs for the company, this design not
on the list although the list is known to be
incomplete. Pilkington's colour palette for the
most part was rather limited to greens and
yellow with some cobalt blue, this is a superior
example with pinks and nearer turquoise blue
with of course the required greens.
There are very few really nicely design tiles
in this size, Pilkington did a few, mostly good,
lively floral designs, not art nouveau rather
conventionalised floral however of appeal to
collectors of art nouveau.
Versos perfectly clean embossed P in opposing
corners and registration number.
