Minute chip bottom left corner, minor surface
marks. This the most brilliantly glazed of the
group of five, I nearly kept it for my
collection. Style: Art nouveau A superb full design with bold main design
and lots of impressed detail in the background.
Not often seen and this the best colourway I
have seen to date, three greens the background a
tasteful bluey-green, nice bright yellow and
brown which looks like purple flowerheads. A
substantial tile on a thicker body as is often
the case for Malkin who was a serious tilemaker
being one of the earliest 19th century companies
to make tiles and primarily floor tiles so more
architectural quality than many of the purely
decorative tilemakers. Versos very clean, some slight stain, painted
pattern number All visible marks are manufacturing flaws, some
light scratches parallel with bottom edge. Light scratches parallel with left and bottom
edges.
