Style: Aesthetic movement
• Technique: Transfer print
• Maker: John Windsor Bradburn (artist)
Maker: Minton, Hollins & Co. (factory)
Dimensions: 6" x 6"
Date: 1883 (registered)

A less often found design of the period by John Bradburn who designed several of the most popular tiles of the period, much more popular than those designed by famous designers! Just a branch of blossoms but good and full and well illustrated. Signed with the mongoram JB at the bottom of the stem.

John Bradbury freelanced and produced tile designs for Edward Smith of Coalville and Minton, Hollins before being permanently employed by Maw & Co.. No longer freelance, and needing to market his name, it has mostly disappeared from the records yet he produced thousands of great designs many of which helped propely Maw & Co. to it's place as largest and greatest tile manufacturer the world had ever seen.

There are printing flaws and the tile is somewhat off square, most unusual for the company, so maybe this escaped thw scrap pile but thankfully it did for the design is rarely found.

Versos clean of adhesive, lightly stained, embossed Minton Hollins etc, printed registration number.
