Bottom right corner trimmed for the original
fixing, tiny slender chip upper right edge, surface
near perfect. Style: Queen
Anne A most unusual and rare design, surprisingly
rare for the design caters to many tastes the
border being both rococo and arabesque and with
a pleasing floral centrepiece, printed in a
pleasing chocolate brown. It really does appear that Mintons made the
wrong choices in which designs to register, I
collect registered designs and few of Mintons
are found yet other none-registered designs of
the company's were popular. Perhaps rare because
there is a design flaw, not in the design itself
but in the manner in which it works with the
medium. At the middle of the edges the pattern
reaches too close to the edge and the print
fails to take hold, perhaps not too obvious on a
single tile but in larger areas as the design
was intended for not a welcome flaw. Verso perfectly clean embossed Mintons etc,
printed pattern and design registration number,
some clay loss from water-based adhesive.
