The series called 'Classical Muses' according to The Decorated Tile, I'm not sure if that is correct, it certainly is not by Maw & Co as stated therein. This image entitled affection showing a nursing mother with two other children. Every example I have seen being on Boote's ring grip biscuit it is with some surprise that every one I have seen come to market in the last twenty years or more has been described as by Maw even though clearly not for the print quality is not up to Maw's standard. I am sure most collectors with one or more in their collections had doubts as to the veracity of the report in Austwick, unfortunately the first of several books about tiles to be replete with errors. As Boote sold biscuit to may decorators it could theoretically be by a dozen or more however some sheets from a Boote catalogue came to light and there it is so the problem is solved. Verso clear of adhesive, smoke staine, Boote ring grip pattern.   Information Tiles For Sale Contacts Order Information
