A nicely detailed engraving printed in dark brown and painted underglaze. An excellent tile of its type, not often found, I have seen it twice as a centrepiece in fireplaces paired with 'Old Cloisters, Rouen. The market for built landscapes was dominated by Mintons however unfortunately few are found coloured, of the others seen where the design fills the tile this pair I think the best.
