V. & S.? • Dimensions: 6" x 6" • Date: 1890 (circa)   This a familiar design to me but I haven't yet traced other examples which I believe by a large or at least larger manufacturer for it has an unfamiliar manufacturer mark verso, F. V. & S. Two grip patterns in the small group purchased one of which suggested (but to my mind not confirmed) to be either Birch Tile Co. or New Birch Tile Co.. So rather esoteric interest for refixing to a wall however from a decorative point of view puce prints are relatively uncommon and with many who appreciate them as I have learned recently having more face to face conversations with customers.
